Dear Friends of Morris Habitat,
It is with great excitement and a deep sense of gratitude that I write to you today as the new Interim CEO at Morris Habitat. Having been a part of this incredible organization for nearly 18 years, I am honored to have the opportunity to lead our dedicated team and serve our community in this new capacity. I have been truly blessed to work side by side with Blair Schleicher Wilson for the past 18 years and it has been the opportunity of a lifetime. Blair’s lasting legacy to Morris Habitat is not only the impact to the families that were served during her tenure, but ensuring there is a strong and devoted team that is fully capable to stand on her shoulders to serve the countless families for many years to come.
During my tenure here, I have witnessed the transformative power of our work firsthand. I’ve had the privilege of leading and contributing to various initiatives that have fueled the growth of Morris Habitat From taking part in the opening of the ReStore in 2007 to overseeing the acquisition and integration of the Greater Plainfield and Middlesex County Habitat affiliate in 2020, I have witnessed the incredible potential we possess as an organization to create lasting change. I am deeply proud of what we have accomplished thus far, and I firmly believe that the best is yet to come.
As the Interim CEO, my vision for Morris Habitat is one of innovation and continued growth. I believe that by embracing new opportunities and challenges, we can broaden our impact and serve even more families This vision includes expanding and deepening our reach and impact in Middlesex County. I am dedicated to fostering new partnerships and collaborations to strengthen our organization and enhance our effectiveness. By joining forces, we can create a network of support that will enable us to tackle larger and more ambitious projects. Together, we can address some of the root causes of housing insecurity and build a sustainable future for our community.
I invite each and every one of you to join me on this exciting journey! Whether you have been involved with Morris Habitat for years or are just discovering our mission, your contributions are invaluable. Whether you volunteer your time, donate your resources, or simply spread the word about our work, your support is essential in helping us achieve our goals.
I am filled with hope and anticipation as we embark on this new chapter together. The road ahead may have its challenges, but I have unwavering faith in the power of our community and the dedication of our team. Let us work hand in hand to create a stronger, more sustainable Morris Habitat.
For those of you who don’t know, I’m an avid gardener and passionate cat-mom. I tend to my garden and my family of cats with great care to help both grow and thrive. I believe all things need to be nurtured and cultivated to reach their full potential. All these years I’ve been working behind the scenes acquiring properties, working with municipalities and our partners, cultivating and tending to these relationships that have resulted in the development of new homes.
Thank you for your support and for entrusting me with the responsibility of leading this incredible organization. Together, we will continue to build and repair homes, advocate for affordable housing and keep our mission close to our hearts.
