Advocacy Communications Intern

Reporting to the Advocacy Programs Coordinator while working directly with the Advocacy & Social Impact Assistant Coordinator, the Advocacy Communications Intern will support the Advocacy efforts of Morris Habitat in advancing the affordable housing sector, specifically supporting just and fair housing policy. This Intern will primarily be responsible for assisting with administrative tasks and social media postings.

ReStore Truck Driver/Furniture Mover

Truck drivers pick up donations from residences and businesses in the Greater Morris County area, assist customers and donors in loading and unloading merchandise, assist the Retail Operations Manager and the Receiving Manager with cleaning and organizing the warehouse and loading dock and supervise volunteers as needed.

The candidate must be age 18 or older with a high school degree and be able to do heavy lifting. Staff members must show commitment to core values of Morris Habitat for Humanity and demonstrate good customer service standards and a friendly manner. Requirements include a valid driver’s license with a good driving record and experience driving a 16-foot box truck in residential neighborhoods. Our 16-foot box trucks have automatic transmissions, and a CDL is not required. Driver’s record and criminal background checks will be performed.

Full-time truck drivers work 40 hours a week, Monday to Saturday.

Part-Time Positions

ReStore Warehouse Associate/Truck Helper

The warehouse associate is responsible for receiving, processing, stocking and displaying donated materials. The warehouse associate will also receive walk-in donations in person and help supervise and direct volunteer “staff” in carrying out required tasks and projects. This person will assist as a truck helper when needed.

The candidate must demonstrate good customer service standards, be able to lift 50 pounds on a consistent basis and be able to stand for long periods of time. Staff members must show commitment to core values of Morris Habitat for Humanity. A high school degree or equivalent is required. Truck helper duties require a valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Criminal background checks will be performed.

Flexible part-time hours of 24 per week will include Mondays, other weekdays and Saturdays.
