We are looking for one low-income family to purchase this home. Household size must be from 3 to 6 persons.
The application deadline is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022. To submit an application for the home, you must have attended one open house or Program Information Meeting in December 2021. Qualified applicants will be assigned a lottery number and the prospective homeowner will be selected via lottery in February or March 2022.
An affordable 30-year mortgage will be held by Morris Habitat. The home will have a minimum 30-year deed restriction that allows modest equity upon resale, but mandates that it be sold at an affordable price to another income-eligible family. The prospective homeowners will contribute a minimum of 300 hours of sweat equity helping to build their home as well as other homes.
This duplex unit will feature 3 bedrooms and 1-1/2 baths with attached garage. Sale price will be $114,000, depending on income and bedroom size.
Renovation work began in summer 2021. The project is planned to be completed by the end of 2021.
