Project Address: 13, 15 & 17 Strickland Place, Madison
Build #66-68: completed 2014 – second partnership with the Madison Affordable Housing Corporation
Type:
- Single-family homes
- New construction
- 3 bedrooms
The development of this site eliminated an unsightly and deteriorating vacant lot, the former location of an asphalt paving business. The 3 new homes are accessible and handicapped-adaptable. Testing for ENERGY STAR certification revealed that they will use 50% less energy than homes of comparable size. Green or reusable building materials were used whenever feasible.
In 2015, this project won an Award of Excellence from the Metropolitan Builders & Contractors Association of New Jersey for the “Best Affordable Mt. Laurel Home.” It also won a 2015 NAHRO Award of Merit from the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials for the innovative partnership with the Madison Housing Authority.
