Seasoned Habitat Volunteers
See the “Volunteer Now” opportunities on our home page.
Our construction department is building most Tuesdays through Saturdays at various locations around Morris County. Our day runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We work rain or shine, unless conditions are so severe that we cannot complete the planned work. You must be at least 16 to participate on an active build site. If you are under the age of 18, you must bring an adult chaperone with you.
All you need to do is:
- Check the Work Site page to find out what to expect during a work day.
- Check our online volunteer calendar in the left column before heading out to be sure the site is open.
- Complete the release form and bring it with you on your first visit to a site.
No special skills are needed – all are welcome. All we ask for is a smile and a willingness to help. We will send you home tired, dirty and fulfilled! If you are an expert with enough skill to teach others what you know, terrific! We need crew leaders, site hosts and site supervisors. We hope you will join us!
Volunteers are vital to keep the ReStore operating as a successful retail outlet. You will find plenty of opportunities for any skill level, from warehouse assistant to sales help to cashier. Check the ReStore Volunteer page for a list of positions.
Not handy with a hammer? Dangerous with power tools? Would you rather build a budget than a bathroom? Are you better at raising money than roofs? Do ladders make you light-headed? Why not volunteer on a team?
It takes more than construction volunteers to build a Habitat home. Behind the scenes, volunteers raise money, find property, provide outreach to the community, plan events, select the families and much, much more. Each of Habitat’s teams, described on the Organization page, welcomes new members interested in lending their time and talents or learning a new skill.
Volunteers are welcome at the Morris Habitat office at 274 South Salem Street, Suite 100, Randolph, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. Volunteers perform a wide range of administrative tasks, primarily data entry. Office volunteers must commit to a regular schedule for a minimum of 6 months and be comfortable working on a computer. Register for an Office Help position from the “Volunteer Now” section of the home page.
