Alternative Gifts Program Coordinator
Reports to: Development Team Chair
Hours: 4-10 hours per month
Location: work from home, with meetings at the Morris Habitat office
Use the Internet and print materials to encourage individuals and groups to make a donation to Morris Habitat in lieu of buying tangible gifts for friends, family members and co-workers for various occasions (i.e., birthdays, anniversaries, and other holidays) or gifts in memory or in honor of an individual. All “Uncommon Gifts” (monetary, tax-deductible donations made in the recipient’s name) are sent to Morris Habitat and the donors are sent a “Gift from the Heart” gift acknowledgement card to give to the person(s) for whom the donation was made. The program coordinator is encouraged to be creative and will work with other Development/Outreach sub-teams to find ways to co-promote alternative giving with other Morris Habitat fundraisers and outreach efforts. Recruit and manage a team of volunteers.
