Millbrook Avenue
Randolph

The Millbrook Avenue build is the 3rd new home resulting from the partnership set up between Morris Habitat and the Township of Randolph to offer affordable housing in Randolph. After a long delay in waiting for approvals from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, ground was broken on August 18, 2005. The 3-bedroom, two-story, single-family home was designed by architect Francis Giblin.
Volunteers who worked under the supervision of Russ Moran and the Friday Faithful team can take great pride in building one of the most attractive houses in this neighborhood. Siding and exterior trim make the outside virtually maintenance-free. A landscape drainage system channels water runoff from around the house back to the wetlands.
The family members selected to own this home are David Winkler, his mother, and his son. Four years after Morris Habitat purchased this property, our 31st home was dedicated November 19, 2006. Landscaping was completed in 2007 by the Green Thumbs gardening group of the Newcomers’ and Neighbors’ Club of Randolph with plants donated by Gardens of the World of Mine Hill. Now that David has moved from a small apartment, he will be able to indulge his passion for growing flowers and vegetables. If you pass by the house in spring or summer, look for their porch filled with hanging baskets and planters.
