Madison Street
Morristown
This project was done in cooperation with the “House that Congress Built” initiative of Habitat for Humanity International. International partnered with the United States House of Representatives to encourage the representatives to work with a Habitat affiliate in their home district.

Our representative, Rodney Frelinghuysen, served as Honorary Chair and was active in the successful completion of the project—a four-family townhouse complex on Madison Street in Morristown.
Two of the four homes were fully sponsored by area corporations, Schering-Plough and Nabisco. One house was sponsored by multiple corporations, large and small, and the final house was sponsored by “the People of the 11th Congressional District,” including support from local municipal governments. Sponsors supply the funds to build the home as well as volunteers for construction.
The Rosario, Small, Moreno and McEachern families contributed their sweat equity hours alongside volunteers from Chester Township, Prudential, Nabisco, Schering-Plough, MetLife, AT&T, Chatham Presbyterian Church and many more. The families moved into their homes in December 1999.
