Lloyd Avenue

Stanhope

The Lloyd Avenue property

A new four-plex residential dwelling will be constructed on the corner of Brooklyn Road and Lloyd Avenue in Stanhope. Morris Habitat and the Sussex County Habitat affiliate will collaborate to furnish labor, materials, equipment, and services on this second joint project. The Mayor and Council of the Borough of Stanhope are extremely supportive and ready to work with us to help provide their affordable housing obligation. After hearing presentations from three different non-profit groups, the Stanhope Council chose to donate this lot to the Morris and Sussex Habitat affiliates. Our successful site plan and architectural proposal was prepared by architect Jeff Rawding of J. F. Rawding, Fred Stewart of Stewart Engineering and Rich Smith of Richard Smith Surveyor.

Two units for low-income families will have two bedrooms. Low-income eligibility will range from a two-person household earning less than $29,622 to a four-person household earning less than $37,028.

The other two units for very low-income families will have only one bedroom. Very low-income eligibility will be either a one-person household earning less than $15,552 or a two-person household earning less than $17,773.

Applications for homeowners should be available in early summer 2008. We anticipate breaking ground in late 2008 with completion early in 2009.
