Fairlawn Avenue
Randolph
The Doris Holder Memorial House

Doris Holder was a member of the Morris Habitat Board of Directors for six years from 1990 to 1995 and served as Secretary for the Board for five of those six years. Doris passed away unexpectedly in 1999 and in her will, made a bequest of over $47,000 to Morris Habitat—enough to sponsor a house. After consultation with the Holder family, the Fairlawn Avenue house was designated as the Doris Holder Memorial House.
Julie Pease, MHFH’s Executive Director, believes that the Fairlawn house is “a fitting, living memorial to Doris’ generous spirit and devotion to assisting those in need in our community.”
Jeff Rawding of F J Rawding Architects Inc., the architect for the house in Chester Township, also served as architect for the Doris Holder Memorial House.

Among the groups that provided volunteers were: the Whippany Rotary, Brookside Community Church, Randolph Township employees, Trinity Lutheran Church, Hilltop Presbyterian Church, the Shrine of St. Joseph and students from the Morristown, Millburn and Parsippany high school campus chapters.
After being snowed-out on the first try, the Dedication was held on Sunday, December 21, 2003 and the Gebhard family moved into their new home the day before Christmas. Thank you to all of our volunteers and donors who helped to make Heidi’s Christmas wish come true.
