Calumet Road
Randolph

This new single family home for Donna Church and her three children is located at 13 Calumet Road in Randolph. This was the first of the three lots purchased from the township to be developed by Morris Habitat and was designated a “community” project. Volunteers were recruited from Randolph schools, businesses, clubs, congregations and residents.
The volunteer construction effort was kicked off with a “Pastor’s Build” on September 10, 2002. Pastors from five area congregations (Ironia Free Methodist, Millbrook United Methodist, Holy Trinity Orthodox, Mt. Fern United Methodist and Good Shepherd Lutheran) built window headers and installed foam board insulation on the crawlspace’s interior.
Among the groups that provided volunteers were: the Randolph High School National Honor Society, Randolph Karate Academy, Millbrook UMC, Randolph Kiwanis, NJ Marthoma Church, Edgell Communications, Ironia Free UMC, and the Township Council and employees.
The Dedication was held on Sunday, April 13, 2003 and the Church family closed on their home in mid-May. The house has a thirty-year deed restriction to remain affordable housing.
