Arch Street
Butler
Our 26th home, located at 54 Arch Street, was dedicated Sunday, October 17, 2004, just in time for homeowner Vikki Preziosi, her three children and her mother, to settle in and celebrate the holidays in their new home.
The land for this project was purchased from Butler and will be applied to its COAH obligation. As a result, there will be a thirty year deed restriction on resale—the home may only be sold to another qualified low-income family during this time period. Glenn Stubaus of Molinari Stubaus Architects contributed the plans for the four-bedroom house. Glenn is a former Board member with considerable experience designing Habitat homes.
The Preziosi family’s new home
Thanks to our generous sponsors, Freddie Mac and Weichert Realtors—who not only matched the Freddie Mac funds dollar for dollar but also, provided volunteers who unwaveringly showed up every Thursday and Saturday and put in full days on construction. Additional funding support came from Morris County Community Development and Kinnelon High School.
Located on a steep hill, the Butler site was challenging to the many Morris Habitat work crews. However, with help from groups like Cedar Crest, College of St. Elizabeth, Delta Kappa Gamma-Tau Chapter, Friday Faithful, GlaxosmithKline, Our Lady of Magnificat in Kinnelon, Hewitt Associates and Ernst & Young, Pathmark, JPMorganChase, Riverdale Physical Therapy Group, Kinnelon High School, Resurrection Parish in Randolph, Shrine of St. Joseph, Lucent, Weichert Realtors and individuals too numerous to list here, that challenge was mastered beautifully! Today, thanks to over 850 tons of fill and the handiwork of so many people, the home blends in with the neighborhood beautifully.
