Morris Habitat’s 2nd annual Car Show drew a crowd of spectators to view the sixty-five cars on display from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The show was a car lover’s delight with vintage, hot rod, and muscle models posing languidly in the sunlight. The Car Show was a great source of enjoyment both for automobile aficionados and for families looking for some weekend fun.
Awards were given out in thirty categories in addition to two overall prizes. Best of Show went to Robert Bara’s 1932 Ford Tudor street rod, and People’s Choice was won by Marci Terlizza’s 1956 Corvette.
Live musical entertainment included performances by the Harmonium Choral Society and the Phnerts, a Mendham High School a cappella group.

Youth United organized this “piece-of-automobile-history” display to raise money for affordable housing. Co-chairs Dave Reiley and Gordon Lorig expressed immense satisfaction with the results. “There was a great turnout and we raised some good money for Youth United,” Reiley said. Youth United is a Habitat for Humanity program that brings community youth ages 5 to 25 together to fully sponsor and build a home with a local family. The youth are the leaders, planners, fund raisers, public relations specialists and builders. A duplex on Hazel Street in Morristown will be renovated in 2007 by Youth United to house two low-income families.
Reiley expressed gratitude to sponsors The Provident Bank (Event Sponsor), Jackson Hewitt Tax Service, Lakeland Bank, PSE&G and Valley National Bank, adding that “their financial support was vital to the success of the 2007 Car Show.”
