Lopez Family Chosen for George Street

Written by Alison Hunt

Lopez family

Santiago Lopez is a hardworking young married man from Ecuador who is a permanent resident of the U.S. He lives in Dover in his sister’s crowded house with his six-year-old daughter, his mother, his sisters and nieces.

When he obtained his green card three years ago, his wife Angela’s application was not approved. They made the painful and difficult decision that Santiago and little Cindy should come to the U.S. so that their daughter could have a better life. They hope very much that Angela will follow shortly. Cindy is doing very well in school and speaks good English.

After Santiago applied and met the criteria for a Morris Habitat house, he was lucky enough to have his name drawn in the lottery last November. He is extremely happy to be able to provide a home for his daughter, mother, and wife.
