Building Update May 2007
Our expert property sleuths, Jane Dwyer and Kathy Gardner, are working with Rockaway Borough to acquire a municipally-owned lot for a single-family home. Morris Habitat, in collaboration with Sussex County Habitat, recently presented a proposal to the Stanhope Council to construct a 4-plex on municipally-owned property.
We wrapped up 2006 by completing construction of the Victory Gardens home in December, and have scheduled landscaping for spring. Receiving Denville Planning Board approval for our Hussa Place application in December and with final architectural plans in hand, our construction team is securing quotes for site work in anticipation of the May 24th groundbreaking. In April, demolition and foundation work began for the George Street, Morristown, duplex, and rehab work began for the Hazel Street, Morristown, duplex. The Hopatcong home interior was gutted in March, with construction to begin in May. Architectural plans are being finalized for the Collins Avenue, Jefferson, home.
We are in the final stages of the Morristown home repair project, and have a porch repair in Landing scheduled for spring.
